What does the future hold for Clinton County?  How will we grow and where will growth take place?  What are the major concerns and problems that face the future of Clinton County?

Over the past two years we have been asking these questions and getting input from the public and private sector. The results have been incorporated into the Comprehensive Plan for Clinton County.  This plan fulfills a state mandate in the Municipalities Planning Code, but more importantly, provides polices and strategies for the future of Clinton County.  These policies and strategies address problems and concerns in the county and provide a clear agenda for improving the quality of life in the County.

Implementation of this plan is important.  It cannot be achieved by the county alone but will require the cooperation of both private and public partnerships working together to make improvements throughout the County.

The 2005 Comprehensive Plan for Clinton County is an important step forward. It provides guidance and policies for future activities and should be used on a regular basis to formulate future strategies for the County. The County Plan should also be regularly consulted by local municipalities to assure they are making local decisions and plans that are consistent with the County Comprehensive Plan.
